How the bid is calculated
Your remaining budget is spread across the weeks left, which sets a weekly spend baseline. Each target is then scored: projected points and value form the base, thin positions on your roster get a need multiplier, an easy matchup adds a bump, and a high rostered percentage discounts the score because the player is already widely available to your rivals. The suggested bid is the weekly baseline scaled by that score, capped at your remaining budget.
Two practical rules: never spend more than about a third of your budget on a non-league-winning add before the halfway point, and bid odd dollar amounts to beat tie rules in most leagues.
FAQ
- How much FAAB should I bid on a waiver wire pickup?
- Bid a share of your remaining budget scaled to how much the player improves your weakest starting spot and how many weeks are left. The calculator does this for you: it divides your remaining FAAB across the weeks left, then weights each target by projected points, roster need, matchup and how widely rostered they already are.
- Is the FAAB calculator free?
- Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no account, email or payment required.
- Does it work for Sleeper, ESPN, Yahoo and CBS leagues?
- Yes. The bids are based on your budget, roster shape and weeks remaining, so they apply to any FAAB league regardless of platform.
- What does the urgency label mean?
- Must add means the player is a clear weekly upgrade worth spending on, strong add is a starter-quality target, streamer is a one-week matchup play worth a minimum bid, and ignore means the value does not justify the budget.
