Tiers recalculate live from projected points in your format — superflex lifts quarterbacks into their own early tiers, TE premium collapses the gap behind the top tight ends.
Draft by tier, not by rank
Rankings imply a precision nobody has. The difference between the WR8 and the WR11 is noise; the difference between the last receiver in a tier and the first one in the next is real, because that is where projected production actually steps down. Drafting by tier turns a hundred close calls into a handful of decisions that matter.
Take the last player in a tier when the tier is thin and the players in it are packed into a few picks of ADP — that is the high run-risk case, and one manager reaching starts a chain that empties it before your next turn. Wait when the tier is wide, the names stretch across a round or more, and the cliff after it is small: you can address a thinner position now and still come back to an equivalent player.
Format changes the shape of the board more than it changes the names. Superflex makes a second quarterback a starter, so the quarterback tiers shrink and their cliffs steepen — missing the top two tiers is expensive in a way it never is in one-quarterback leagues. TE premium adds reception scoring for tight ends, lifting the middle of the position and reducing the penalty for waiting.
FAQ
- What are tiers in fantasy football?
- A tier is a group of players who project close enough that it does not matter much which one you get. Tier breaks mark where projected production falls off a cliff, so the real decision is which tier you end a round in, not which name inside it you prefer.
- How do I draft by tiers instead of by rank?
- Look at how many players remain in the tier you want and how many picks until your next turn. If the tier can empty before you pick again, take the last player in it now. If several names remain, spend the pick on a position whose tier is about to break.
- Do tiers change in Superflex or TE premium leagues?
- Yes. Superflex makes a second startable quarterback valuable, which pulls quarterbacks into small early tiers with steep cliffs. TE premium adds points per reception for tight ends, which flattens the gap behind the elite ones. Both toggles recompute the board here.
- What is run risk?
- Run risk measures how tightly a tier is packed in ADP against how big the drop after it is. High risk means a couple of picks by other managers can wipe out the tier, so waiting costs you a full grade of production.
- Are these tiers free?
- Yes. The board is public, needs no account and recalculates in your browser when you change scoring, league size or format.
